False Climate Solutions: How Proposed Solutions Can Delay Effective Policies

It’s easy to believe any proposed climate solution is a step in the right direction. However, not all proposals are created equal. False solutions, which are promoted by fossil fuel companies and their political allies, can actually delay effective policies that might challenge their power, control, and profits. These solutions may appear effective, but they can ultimately hinder progress in the fight against climate change. Examples of false solutions include carbon capture, hydrogen fuels, and nuclear energy, all of which have gained prominence in mainstream spaces. It’s important to be critical of proposed solutions to ensure that we are truly making progress toward a sustainable future.
